Valentines Day

I've never been fond of valentines day. Too much pressure to show or say something on one particular day that should be said or done year round. The day is a bit silly in my opinion. I am bothered by ads that encourage you to go out and buy expensive gifts, when all that's needed is the quality time together with someone you love, doing something that both of you love. My idea is to let the day just pass on by like any other day.

  1. I agree with you that it shouldn't be a day of extravagant spending but I like to think of it as a special time to 'show your love'.
Hey does that mean you don't want some cute pink colored valentine cookies from me? (grin)

  2. I must admit that I have been pulled into the commercialism of it all....as far as the flowers go! Grin.....Flowers are just something I can't resist. But you are right...it is a day like any other day. I kinda get nauseous with those who gush and goo over the day. Sigh....but we are not all the same ...and I have friends and family too who put a lot of emphasis on the day. I like to just make sure that I have time set aside for those whom I love the most...and that is usually more than just a 'love' interest....but my son AND...grin...my dog...as well! How is that for unromantic!
