Melt the Ice

One of the last hockey tournaments of the season reminded me to not give up and keep on trying. I played 4 games this last weekend in a mixed hockey tournament. What I mean by mixed is guys and girls together on the same teams. Our team had 2 girls and 6-7 guys. The first 2 games I found myself wanting to quit but I kept at it. I was happy that I did because the last 2 games where a lot of fun. I had a chance to play with Kieran and Kevin. All three of us had some shifts together on the ice. The reason I felt like quitting after the first 2 games? The games where fast paced and I couldn't keep up with the play, I found that frustrating. The last 2 games slowed down and I felt more like I could contribute. This tournament is just for fun and we are reminded of that before we sign up. With many different personalities not everyone has the same idea of what fun is. I do not consider myself a competitive player so to win or loose a game doesn't bother me. Not everyone has this opinion; in fact I find most people that enjoy sports, want to win. I enjoy playing hockey for the friends, exercise and the opportunity to learn new things.

Persistance will give you power to prevail over all problems.
