Pumpkin muffins, I tried a new recipe this morning; they are tasty. I enjoy baking, I think partly it's because you need to follow a set of instructions and depending on how well you follow these instructions and knowing were you can bend the rules without the process having a detrimental effect on the outcome. I do believe I might be able to draw similarity to life here. ;)
Every so often Kieran asks if I can make waffles. I often don't because of the time involved or I don't have the ingredients. But today I am making waffles. It is a family favorite recipe. White sauce and the traditional recipe for the waffle batter from the Mennonite treasury.
Today is Good Friday. It is a day to reflect on what Jesus did for us. I will spend some time thinking about that today and reading about it. Most businesses are closed today to observe this as well.
Writing about thinking brings up another thought on the subject ..... last night I was a bit restless falling asleep. I realize many people have issues sleeping and of course they would love to solve this problem. I am interested in this topic of sleeplessness. I am blessed to have hardly any issues with sleeping, but my heart goes out to those that do have problems and I am always trying to think of why someone else has an issue with this and I don't. What is it exactly that I do differently? I come up with different hypothesis from time to time. I wonder if people have issues sleeping because they don't give themselves enough time in a day to think. We should all take time to contemplate our days and not rush and fill our time up so fully that we have no time to think and contemplate our thoughts.
Another one of the theories are that people train there minds to be confused about what it means to crawl into bed. Putting TV's in bedrooms, reading in bed, spending excessive amounts of time in bed without sleeping I think for some can confuse their bodies. Well just a few idea's that I have had.
What? No reading in bed? Hmmm..I rarely have sleep issues either so I'm relieved to know I can read in bed:)
ReplyDeletePumpkin muffins and waffles..all sound so good.
I also did a lot of thinking yesterday on what Jesus did for us on the cross..I cringe when I read of how much he suffered and gave up for us and then..I love that the tomb couldn't hold Him and He is coming back!!!
